I-95 Gas Price Update – Wednesday, March 7, 2012

The rise in gas prices appears to be slowing down a bit… along I-95 anyway, but $4 a gallon gas is still showing up. Prices along I-95 have seen an increase about 3 cents a gallon over the last week. Connecticut still holds the distinction of not only the highest gas prices along I-95, but the first $4 a gallon state. New Haven is showing $4.05 a gallon for regular unleaded. The lowest gas prices continue to be in Ashland, Virginia ($3.60), and Santee ($3.59), and Manning ($3.59) South Carolina. From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.60 to $3.80 range.

Listed below are the average posted gas prices as of Friday, March 7, 2012 for unleaded regular gas at selected I-95 exit cities.

Lane Closures at I-95 Newark Toll Plaza

Newark — The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that starting on Monday, March 5, and continuing through Tuesday, March 27, A-Del Construction Company will begin patching of the road surface at the I-95 Toll Plaza. Repairs will also be done to the retaining walls. This construction will necessitate daytime lane closures in both directions, which will vary throughout the project. [More]

Oh well, I guess we all knew it was coming… $4 a gallon gas is now here. Prices along I-95 have seen an increase about 10 cents a gallon over the last week. Connecticut now hold the distinction of not only the highest gas prices along I-95, but is now the first $4 a gallon state. Bridgeport is showing $4.01 a gallon for regular unleaded. The lowest gas prices continue to be in Richmond, Virginia ($3.57), and Santee ($3.59), and Manning ($3.58) South Carolina. From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.60 to $3.80 range.

WHERE: Bridge over US Route 202 on I-95 northbound off ramp to US Route 202 North

The highest gas prices along I-95 continue to be in Connecticut, in the $3.74 to $3.87 range. The lowest gas prices continue to be in Richmond, Virginia ($3.43), and Santee ($3.45), Walterboro ($3.45), and Manning ($3.44) South Carolina. From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.45 to $3.65 range.
