Project Will Require the Nighttime Closure of Delaware I-495 Southbound near Claymont

WHERE: Claymont, Delaware

WHEN: January 6 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

WHERE: I-495 southbound CLOSED between Exit 6/Naamans Road and Exit 5/Philadelphia Pike

WHAT: I-495 southbound will be closed to perform a lane switch across the bridge.

Detour: Exit at Naamans Road and take a left and follow to Philadelphia Pike, then make a right and return back to I-495 southbound.

At 5 a.m. on January 7, the southbound left lane on I-495 will be closed (approximately four months) from Exit 6/Naamans Road to Exit 5 Philadelphia Pike.

This project involves the rehabilitation of interstate Bridges 1-792 and 1-829. This work includes: replacing and clearing bearings; replacing expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel girders; repair spall areas in the deck, parapets and substructure; remove temporary barrier; upgrade parapet and guardrail on the bridge. This work is funded through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The contractor for these improvements is Mumford & Miller Concrete, Inc.

I-95 Gas Price Update – Friday, January 6, 2012

Gas prices are on the move… and not in a good way. Prices along I-95 have seen an increase of from 5 to 10 cents a gallon over the last week. The highest gas prices along I-95 continue to be in Connecticut, in the $3.56 to $3.66 range. The lowest gas prices continue to be in Richmond, Virginia ($3.19), Santee ($3.21), and Walterboro ($3.19), South Carolina. A gas tax increase of 3.9 cents in North Carolina also went into effect January 1st.

From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.20 to $3.45 range.

Listed below are the average posted gas prices as of Friday, January 6, 2012 for unleaded regular gas at selected I-95 exit cities.

The highest gas prices along I-95 continue to be in Connecticut, in the $3.51 to $3.61 range. The lowest gas prices are showing up in Richmond, Virginia ($3.12), Santee ($3.09), and Walterboro ($3.10), South Carolina. From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.12 to $3.35 range.

I-95 and US Route 202 Exit Project Will Require the Nighttime Closure of Exit 8 Ramps

Wilmington — WHEN: December 20 through December 23 from midnight to 5 a.m., each day

WHERE: Exit 8 off ramp on I-95 southbound to US Route 202 northbound

WHAT: Mumford & Miller Company will be removing the existing striping and placing new striping plus placement of a temporary barrier along the right side of the ramp for construction of an additional lane.

Detour: I-95 southbound traffic will exit south on Marsh Road to south onto Market Street and return to US Route 202 northbound.
