Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods to Celebrate Grand Opening on May 21

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. (NYSE: SKT) and Foxwoods Resort Casino announced today that Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods will celebrate the new center’s grand opening on Thursday, May 21 kicking off at 10:00 a.m. with an official ribbon cutting hosted by Drew and Jonathan from the hit show, Property Brothers. The festivities will run through the weekend and will feature personal styling sessions with a People StyleWatch fashion editor, a design workshop with the Property Brothers, an Instagram Tech Lounge, as well as special savings and giveaways.

“We are very pleased to add Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods to our portfolio of successful retail and destination properties. With millions of annual visitors, Foxwoods is the ideal location for Tanger Outlet’s first development linked to a casino,” said Steven B. Tanger, President and CEO of Tanger Factory Outlets. “We take pride in the value and shopping experience we provide our customers and this grand opening weekend was designed to highlight our unique TangerSTYLE to residents and visitors to the area.”

As part of the May 21 grand opening celebrations, Tanger will offer shoppers a chance to meet and greet Jonathan and Drew, as well as attend an exclusive workshop where the brothers will share design-on-a-budget advice. The Scott brothers have nearly 15 years of experience in the real estate industry and have a knack for finding down-and-out fixer-uppers and turning them into perfect properties for clients on their shows.

In addition, shoppers at the new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods can stop by the Celeb Stylist Studio on May 21 and 22 to schedule a 10 minute styling appointment with a People StyleWatch fashion expert to create a celebrity-inspired look for less. Shoppers can then share photos from the People StyleWatch Studio tagging @peoplestylewatchmag to enter to win one of two $250 Tanger Gift Cards.

Tanger Outlets will also be offering shoppers a chance to win a beautiful Dream Closet Makeover valued at $10,000 from Affordable Closets, as well as a $2,500 Shopping Spree to fill their dream closet.

The $125 million project has already had a positive economic impact on the area through the creation of more than 400 jobs during the construction phase. The completed center will create more than 900 full and part-time retail management and sales positions. Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods will create an estimated $10.4 million in annual sales tax.

“It is fulfilling to see the vision for Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods come to life,” said Annette DeBois, Vice President, Retail Development, Foxwoods Resort Casino. “The economic impact will be widespread, there will be new employment opportunities and this will become the dominant retail destination for customers in southeastern Connecticut, neighboring Rhode Island residents and its many visitors.”

The exciting line up of outlet stores offering stylish savings at the center will include: American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Fossil, Gap, H&M, J. Crew, LOFT, Michael Kors, Nike, Skechers, Steve Madden, Talbots, Tommy Hilfiger and many more.

Guests of the approximately 300,000-square-foot new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods will enter the new center from two indoor entrances including one from the Grand Pequot Tower and the other from the Fox Tower. The services and amenities available at the center will offer loyal Foxwoods customers, team members and residents more reasons to play and stay when visiting North America’s largest resort casino in southeastern Connecticut.
