Gas Price Update - February 26, 2009

While crude oil prices continue to fall, the price at the pump is not necessarily following the same path. I-95 travelers this week will find gas prices rising a few pennies in many locations, but dropping significantly in others, with $2 a gallon gas becoming more common.

Wilmington and Newark, Delaware and Perryville, Maryland now share the lowest gas prices of our selected cities along I-95 this week at $1.69/gal. That’s a 6 cent decrease since our last report (2/18/09) . Motorists in the Northeast will find the lowest prices in Rhode Island. Southern New Jersey and Delaware has the lowest I-95 gas prices of the Mid-Atlantic states and I-95 motorists in the Southeast will find the lowest prices in South Carolina. Northern New Jersey and the New York City metro area have the highest average prices ($2.21/gal.)
