White Mountain Family Vacation: Santa’s Village
Do you want to visit Santa Claus in his North American home? Visit Santa’s Village, just one of seventeen major attractions located within a sixty-mile radius in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Santa’s Village, a small-scale theme park, is most appropriate for kids up to about age eight. My little ones who are four and five absolutely loved it. The big draws here are the reindeer (pictured here), Ruby’s Rapid Transit (a small roller coast), the Yule Log Flume, and the Antique Cars. It’s open all week during the summer, and on weekends in May-June, and September-December, and at $25 per person, it’s pretty reasonably priced. If you visit within three hours of closing, you’ll receive a free return pass to use another day that season. We take advantage of that by visiting three hours before closing the first day of our trip, and then we get the pass to use the next day.
If you visit Santa’s Village, you’ll find that food options are fairly limited nearby. We found several pizza places and several chain fast food restaurants in the near vicinity. The closest nice hotel is the White Mountain Grand Resort, although the nearby North Conway/Bartlett area has loads of hotel and resort options. Lots of families choose to combine this trip with a visit to Storyland, and therefore stay closer to Storyland in Bartlett.
