Florida: I-75 Construction Update November 2 Thru 7

Florida Road Construction | I-75 Exit GuideThe Florida Department of Transportation is reporting the following construction activities and associated lane and ramp closures along I-75.

– One to two lanes (always leaving at least one lane open to traffic) may be closed on southbound I-75 in several areas between I-275 (Exit 274) to south of Fowler Avenue (Exit 265) from 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Friday night, October 31 and Sunday through Friday (November 2 – 7) nights.

– One lane may be closed on northbound I-75 in several areas from south of Fowler Avenue (Exit 265) to State Road 56 (Exit 275) from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday night, October 31 and Sunday through Friday (November 2 – 7) nights.

– The southbound I-75 Exit 265 ramp to Fowler Avenue may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday night, October 31 and Sunday through Friday (November 2 – 7) nights. (This exit will not be closed the same night as the Fletcher Avenue exit ramp; see the item below.) DETOUR: Exit to Fletcher Avenue (Exit 266). Turn right at the bottom of the ramp onto westbound Fletcher Avenue. Turn left at Morris Bridge Road and go south on Morris Bridge Road to Fowler Avenue.

– The southbound I-75 Exit 266 ramp to Fletcher Avenue may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday night, October 31 and Sunday through Friday (November 2 – 7) nights. (This exit will not be closed the same night as the Fowler Avenue exit ramp; see the item above.) DETOUR: Continue south and exit to Fowler Avenue (Exit 265). Bear left at the split of the ramp and take the “loop” exit ramp onto eastbound Fowler Avenue. Pass under I-75 and turn right and take the “loop” entrance ramp onto northbound I-75. Go north on I-75 and use northbound I-75 Exit 266 to Fletcher Avenue.

– The Fletcher Avenue entrance ramp to southbound I-75 may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday night, October 31 and Sunday through Friday (November 2 – 7) nights. DETOUR: Go south on Morris Bridge Road, then east on Fowler Avenue to the entrance ramp to southbound I-75.

– One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 anywhere from north of County Road 54 (Exit 279) to north of SR 52 (Exit 285) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (November 2 – 6) nights.

– One lane may be closed (for up to a two-mile stretch) on northbound and southbound I-75 anywhere from the Pasco County/Hernando County line (north of County Road 41/Exit 293) to about two miles south of SR 50 (Exit 301) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (November 2 – 6) nights.

Georgia: I-75 Express Lanes Project Requires Weeknight and Weekend Lane Closures

Georgia Highway Construction | I-75 Exit GuideThe Georgia Department of Transportation is reporting that construction of the new Georgia Express Lanes on Interstate 75 south of Atlanta will necessitate overnight lane closures tomorrow through Friday and throughout next weekend so that crews can place protective barrier wall.

Weather permitting, one southbound lane and the outside southbound shoulder will be closed in two-mile increments beginning tomorrow night at State Route 138 and progressing through the week to State Route 155.

Beginning Friday night, the closure will be in place continuously until next Monday morning (Nov. 3).

Tennessee: I-75 Construction Report for October 30 Thru November 5

Tennessee Road Construction | I-75 Exit GuideThe Tennessee Department of Transportation is reporting lane closures on I-75 North between Mile Markers 142 and 157.

Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures at various locations between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, as crews perform median cable barrier installation.

Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution through this area.

Michigan: Work Complete on I-75 in Genesee County

Michigan Construction | I-75 Exit GuideThe Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has completed work on I-75 through Genesee County. Crews wrapped up the final stage of construction, rumble strip installation, yesterday.

The $13.3 million project began in late April and included resurfacing 19 miles of I-75 from the Genesee/Oakland county line to the I-475 north junction, including I-75 over Cook Road, I-75 under Grand Blanc and Fenton roads, and I-75 over the Flint River and Flushing Road.

All lanes are open on I-75 through Genesee County.

Michigan: I-75 and Z-Bridge Construction Nearing Completion in Saginaw County

Michigan Construction | I-75 Exit GuideThe Michigan Department of Transportation is reporting that work is nearing completion on I-75 in Saginaw County. This work is part of the ongoing I-75 and Zilwaukee Bridge project. MDOT is reconstructing 4 miles of northbound I-75 and replacing bearing pads on the northbound Zilwaukee Bridge during the 2014 construction season. Overall construction this year is expected to wrap up in early December.

All major structural lifting operations are complete on the Zilwaukee Bridge and all bearing pads have been replaced. Remaining work includes deck sealing, replacing lighting, restoration work on the bridge, and clean-up.

Last weekend, crews replaced permanent pavement markings on southbound I-75 from the I-675 north junction to Janes Road. For the next three weeks, crews will be constructing new shoulders and barrier walls in the median within a 3,000-foot section south of the Zilwaukee Bridge. At the same time, paving is wrapping up on the travel lanes of northbound I-75.

TRAFFIC IMPACT:
– Southbound I-75 currently has two lanes open.
– The left lane will remain closed on southbound I-75 for four weeks for barrier wall construction work in the median.
– Southbound I-75 will have three lanes open once the barrier wall construction is complete.
– Northbound I-75 traffic currently is rerouted to northbound I-675 and will remain detoured for the duration of this project.
– The Adams Street ramp to southbound I-75 remains closed.
– The southbound I-75 ramp to M-13 remains closed.
