I-95 Gas Price Update – Thursday, December 29, 2011

Check these gas prices before you hit the road this weekend… Prices along I-95 have seen an increase of several cents over the last few days. The highest gas prices along I-95 continue to be in Connecticut, in the $3.51 to $3.61 range. The lowest gas prices are showing up in Richmond, Virginia ($3.12), Santee ($3.09), and Walterboro ($3.10), South Carolina. From Virginia south to Georgia, gas prices are generally in the $3.12 to $3.35 range.

Listed below are the average posted gas prices as of Thursday, December 29, 2011 for unleaded regular gas at selected I-95 exit cities.

Bridge Project Will Require the Nighttime Closure of I-495 Southbound in Delaware

Claymont –
WHEN: January 4 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

WHERE: I-495 southbound CLOSED between Exit 6/Naamans Road and
Exit 5/Philadelphia Pike

WHAT: I-495 southbound will be closed to perform a lane switch across the bridge.

Detour: Exit at Naamans Road and take a left and follow to Philadelphia Pike, then make a right and return back to I-495 southbound.

At 5 a.m. on January 5, the southbound left lane on I-495 will be closed (approximately four months) from Exit 6/Naamans Road to Exit 5 Philadelphia Pike.

This project involves the rehabilitation of interstate Bridges 1-792 and 1-829. This work includes: replacing and clearing bearings; replacing expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel girders; repair spall areas in the deck, parapets and substructure; remove temporary barrier; upgrade parapet and guardrail on the bridge. This work is funded through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The contractor for these improvements is Mumford & Miller Concrete, Inc.
